The National Research Facility for Phenotypic and Genetic Analysis of Model Animals (Primate?Facility), established under China's 12th Five-Year Plan, is led by Kunming Institute of Zoology, CAS and China Agricultural University (Pig Facility, Zhuozhou). Operational since 2019, the Primate Facility is a world-class platform for comprehensive non-human primate (NHP) research across their lifespan. Integrating phenotype assessment with genetic analysis, it houses 5,500 primates within four core systems?(Lab Animal Breeding, Phenotype Analysis, Genetic Analysis,?Information&Automation). It advances NHP conservation, genomics, disease modeling (including infectious diseases, brain disorders),?and therapeutic development, enhancing China‘s global biomedical competitiveness.
